Varanasi

A man told me that this was the “Eternal Flame” that has been burning for the last 3,000 years and is the source of fire that lights all the funeral pyres in Varanasi. This morning the fire was dead. Oops.

Hello Hello! India is proving to be a challenge when it comes to finding wifi. That makes it hard for us to find time to chat :( but I can assure you that the waiting will pay off; India is mind blowing, mind boggling, and full of more to see and talk about than I could ever even scratch the surface of. I have also encountered a strange and pleasant phenomenon when it comes to taking photos. I’m usually pretty reserved when photographing people. It often feels intrusive to me, and I got shot down asking permission so many times in China, I kind of gave up, but here! omg! People come up to you and ask if you will take their picture! Once you take someone’s photo then everyone on the block is asking for one, too. It’s amazing! India is home to so many beautiful and smiling faces, it makes it really fun. There’s so much I want to tell you, but I have to go catch the sleeper train to Bodhgaya. I’ll see you soon. Hugs.
