Powrót do Chin

I’m back in China and all’s well. No more Facebook for awhile, you know the drill… I’m traveling with a couple I met in Mongolia and we’ve been hitting up some of the sites together. The weather has cooled off considerably since I left last month, and the air is pleasant.

I remember when I lost my mind...

I remember when I lost my mind. There was something so pleasant about that place. Even your emotions have an echo in so much space, and when you’re out there without care, yeah, I was out of touch, but it wasn’t because I didn’t know enough. I just knew too much. Does that make me crazy? Possibly. I hope that you are having the time of your life, but think twice. That’s my only advice. Come on now, who do you think you are? Ha ha ha, bless your soul. You really think you’re in control? Well, I think you’re crazy, just like me. My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb, and all I remember is thinking I want to be like them. Ever since I was little it looked like fun, and it’s no coincidence I’ve come, and I can die when I’m done. But maybe I’m crazy. Maybe you’re crazy. Maybe we’re crazy. Probably.

B&W Mongolia

I shot this for their album cover.
A mother about to milk her baby.

Mongolia

OMG, Mongolia! I’m smitten. We got off to a rough start. Within the first few hours of my arrival I had my ass grabbed and was kicked by an elderly drunken man screaming “Mongolia!” but after getting out of Ulan Bator city limits, all is forgiven. This place is amazing.
I’ve got so much floating around in my mind after nine days bumping around on dirt roads in a military van with five other people. I wish I could download it instantly into your brain. I can’t get into the proper headspace to organize it all on a page in any cohesive manner.  We’re leaving for another tour tomorrow morning, seven days into the Gobi desert. I think I will have to wait until I get back to submit my report on what’s been going down. For now I will just be brief and tell you that my new passion is peeing outdoors. I think it’s wonderful. You should too. Come to Mongolia, you’ll fall in love.
I’m sending out a million kisses and trusting one or two will find you. I hope you’ve got your mojo working and that you’ve enjoyed the weekend. I’ll talk to you soon. xoxo.

Our driver Ser, and cook Jerah (far right) on the Gobi tour. Excellent driving skills and van maintenance and the best food we’ve had in Mongolia yet!
