"I love hanging out with people who speak English as a second language. When you’re not submersed in a culture where that language is spoken, you don’t have all the shortcuts at your disposal, clichés and colloquialisms. It kind of leaves you in a position where you strip language down to its bare bones and get right to the middle of meaning. Last night Victoria and I were sitting around sharing some champagne, we finished one bottle and then she asked me if my body was physically able to handle another. Right, if you’re not going to die from it, then let’s have some more. I love it. Apply this philosophy to romance and you have the story of my life.

I’m kind of infatuated with the way McDonalds has taken over the world. In England they had them built into little brick cottages, looking so quaint and cute, and anything but the diabolical image of the artery clogging, imitation food establishment that the American drive throughs seem to inevitably conjure in my imagination. I must say, it’s extremely embarrassing to be a tourist photographing a McDonalds in Russia.
